Dear potential applicant,
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Mississippi National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund distinctive license plate. This license plate is NOT restricted to law enforcement only, so please feel free to make copies of the applications and spread the word. The NLEOMF license plate, which has already been authorized in Senate Bill No. 2472 of the 2014 legislative session, is available to anyone who normally qualifies to register a motor vehicle in Mississippi. As with any specialty license plate, there is an additional fee. The fee for this particular license plate is $31.00. The proceeds of this fee will benefit the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters Death Benefit Trust (pursuant to Mississippi Code Annotated § 45-2-1), and the Police Benevolent Foundation. Before the license plate can be produced, 300 paid applications must be submitted to the Mississippi Department of Revenue by a designated representative, which is where I come in. After exploring several options as methods of payment, I have decided that individual money orders would be the easiest way for me to manage the funds. Please attach a money order, paid to the order of the Mississippi Department of Revenue, to the completed application and mail it to the address below.
